Dr Killian Nugent
Dr Killian Nugent is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and completed General Professional Training at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin.
Having acquired Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, he completed specialist training in Radiation Oncology at both Galway University Hospital and St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network, Dublin. He became a Fellow of the Faculty of Radiology at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2020 and thereafter joined Oxford University Faculty of Oncology in 2022. During his time in Oxford, he completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR).
Alongside his recent fellowship he also was a member of the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit and acted as an investigator for multiple phase I SABR trials. He has a special interest in treating Head and Neck, Breast and Thyroid cancer with a special focus on the further development of SABR in the CUH for oligometastatic cancers. He will also be taking up roles with both Cancer Trials Ireland and the Irish Research Radiation Oncology Group.
