Professional History:
Dr. Farid Ahmad Toor (MBBS, MRCPUK, MRCPI, MSc) graduated from the University of Health Sciences Lahore, Pakistan in 2006. He completed his training in Internal Medicine and Hepatology/Gastroenterology in 2021, training at Connolly Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, St. James’s Hospital, and St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Ireland. Following this, Dr. Toor undertook a Liver Transplant Fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital, London. He then worked as a Consultant Transplant Hepatologist at St. James’s University Hospital, Leeds, UK, before being appointed as a Consultant Hepatologist at Cork University Hospital (CUH) in September 2023.
Dr. Toor co-leads the Hepatology Service at CUH with Dr. Kiat and Prof. Crosbie. This service provides comprehensive hepatology care, with liver transplant procedures carried out at St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin.
Education & Research:
Dr. Toor completed a Master’s in Clinical Research (MSc) at the National University of Galway in 2022. His current research interests include immune-mediated liver diseases and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
