Purpose of the Post
The Acute Floor currently comprises of the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Assessment Unit and Medical Short Stay Ward. There is a strong focus on safe and compassionate care. The Emergency Department is managed operationally and professionally by the Assistant Directors of Nursing collaborating with the Clinical Nurse Manager 3 in conjunction with the Emergency Department Consultants. The management of the Department is overseen by the Clinical Operations Group (COG). There is a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary teamwork within the department and throughout the Acute Floor.
The Staff Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of nursing care practiced in the relevant care setting. The staff nurse will provide holistic, person centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for service users.
