ROLE: Grade VII Risk Manager

The Grade VII Risk Manager will report to the Quality & Patient Safety Manager, Cork University Hospital.

The post holder will work closely with (but not limited to):

• Senior Management Team
• Heads of Departments
• Core Directorate Management Teams
• Hospital Committees
• Director of Nursing
• Consultants

The post holder will represent the hospital with the external HSE Legal Advisors, the State Claims Agency and the Coroner's Office.

· The development of proactive risk management systems and processes that place the quality and safety of patient care at their centre.

· Operational responsibility to develop and co-ordinate a risk management programme within the hospital to effectively manage, measure and monitor the safety of the hospital.

· Promote best evidence risk management practices that foster a fair, open and learning culture

· Implement systems and processes to ensure that the organisation learns from incidents, complaints and claims analysis.

Support Executive Management Board, Core Directorates Management Teams and departmental managers in establishing a proactive risk management culture, focusing on patient safety within clinical directorates and departments.
