Purpose of the Post
This Consultant Radiologist post is a new service development post. The purpose of the post is to provide mammography reporting, assessment of screen-detected abnormalities, imageguided procedures and wire localisations at BreastCheck and the breast symptomatic service at CUH.
The appointee will share responsibility with the Lead Radiologist for the overall co-ordination of the Unit’s quality assurance as related to all radiology aspects of the screening programme.
Administrative responsibility may rotate amongst the other consultants who are employed in the delivery of the Programme.
The successful candidate will be involved in multidisciplinary meetings (membership as per national guidelines) and should be prepared to be involved in promoting the programme nationally within the context of the Programme’s marketing strategy. In the Breast Unit at CUH, this radiologist will be part of the multidisciplinary breast team, delivering care to patients who have symptomatic breast problems, family history patients and follow-up breast cancer patients.
