How Can I Access an Outpatient Appointment?
Patients need a referral letter from their General Practitioner (G.P.) in order to obtain an outpatient appointment. We also accept referrals from other hospitals and from the Emergency Department following assessment.
How Soon Will I Get My Appointment?
The referral letters are reviewed by the Consultant who decides level of urgency based on the information provided. GPs or source of referral and patients are informed by letter when the patient has been placed on the Consultants waiting list. Please note that waiting times vary depending on the specialty. Once your outpatient appointment has been booked with us you should receive a letter with an appointment date and details about where to go when you arrive at the hospital.
