Infusion Day Unit

The Infusion Day Unit at CUH was developed in response to a change in service delivery to adult patients attending the hospital for Intra Venous (IV) therapy for a range of chronic medical conditions.

This is an ambulatory day unit whose aim is to provide effective and efficient healthcare for routine patients by reducing the need for admission to a hospital bed and enhancing their quality of life.  This unit operates within the remit of the Medical Directorate.

Services Provided

IV treatment is administered in an outpatient setting for a range of chronic illnesses within the specialities of:

Neurology

Renal Medicine

Rheumatology

Respiratory Medicine

Immunology

Gastroenterology 

Endocrine investigations are also performed in this unit.
