Respiratory

 

Medical Wards: Patients with respiratory problems receive assistance to clear secretions, education on management of breathlessness and advice on how to improve exercise tolerance. Rehabilitation is provided for patients presenting with a variety of general medical problems which may cause decreased mobility and independence.


Surgical Wards: The Physiotherapy Department provides a service to patients after major surgery (eg abdominal surgery) to help prevent respiratory complications.   They may also receive specific exercises and rehabilitation based on their needs after surgery. 

Intensive Care Unit: Patients in this unit receive chest physiotherapy, exercises and general rehabilitation as appropriate.
