Our Services

The Division of Paediatrics cares for children, from birth to 15 years, incorporating acute paediatric (85% of all paediatric admissions), children with chronic illnesses and children at risk. Surgical and medical treatment is provided by the relevant divisions, for example general surgery, neurosurgery, plastics, opthalmology, urology orthopaedics, while the children are cared for within paediatrics.
Sub-speciality services provided include:
- Respiratory medicine including Cystic Fibrosis
- Diabetes and Endocrinology
- Neurology including Spina Bifida
- Allergy/Immunology
- Haemophila and Rheumatology Clinics
- An Out-Reach Cardiology Clinic for Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children (OLHSC), Crumlin.
- Immunisation
Access To Services
It is preferable where possible to arrange consultation and/or admission prior to the patient’s presentation to the Paediatric Unit. Contact should be made with the registrar of the relative specialist area/consultant you wish to admit the patient into/under (applicable 9-5pm Monday – Friday) or the Registrar ‘On-Call’ outside these times. He/she can be contacted through the hospital switchboard (021 4922000 or 021 4546400).
