Welcome to Cork University Maternity Hospital

CUMH opened in March 2007 and involved the amalgamation of maternity services from Erinville Hospital, St. Finbarr’s Maternity Hospital, Bon Secours Maternity Unit and Gynaecology services from Cork University Hospital.

CUMH is integrated with and located on the campus of Cork University Hospital. The building has six floors and an underground car park. You enter the building on the first floor. In 2008, there were 8,786 births in Cork University Maternity Hospital making it the third largest maternity unit in the country.

Staff enjoy caring for mothers and their families in this new state-of-the-art maternity hospital. We look forward to welcoming you to CUMH.


From the 1st July 2011 screening for Cystic Fibrosis will now form part of the National Newborn Bloodspot Screening. This is offered on day 4 at Cork University Maternity Hospital.
