CUMH Annual Service Of Remembrance06 October 2016
Cork University Maternity Hospital will be holding its annual Service of Remembrance on Friday 7th October, 2016 at 7.30pm in the Sacred Heart Church, Western Road, Cork.
The annual service warmly welcomes all parents and families who have experienced the death of a baby including miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal and infant death.
Commenting on the upcoming service, Daniel Nuzum, Hospital Chaplain, said “Now in its eighth year, our annual ecumenical Service of Remembrance is a valued time of reflection and remembrance for our bereaved parents, families and hospital staff. The ceremony itself is a gentle time of music, reflection, prayer and remembrance where there will be an opportunity to light a candle and to inscribe a memory leaf to be placed on our ‘Tree of Remembrance that will then be brought to the Prayer Room at Cork University Maternity Hospital. There will also be a Book of Remembrance where personal memories can be inscribed.”
Light refreshments will be served after the service and there will be an opportunity to meet hospital staff and other parents. Additional parking is available in the adjacent UCC Western Gateway Building, Western Road, Cork.
